just noticed that the immersion ISN'T running from the 2nd fuseboard.....
Now i'm wondering if thats the problem...but then that has an E7 timer on it...but then if its not off the 2nd board, would it be using night rate electric, or would the night rate only run down the 2nd live feed to the 2nd fuseboard?...
I think your question has already been answered but since you are new to electric heating it may be worth trying to identify your water heating setup. This is a typical standard E7 water heating setup... http://www.horstmann.co.uk/downloads/ElectronicDocuments/Electric-Water-Heating/Economy7_Quartz_datasheet.pdf0 -
Hi Merekat
I'd agree with molerat and Jalexa. Looks as though the readings have been flipped and we're charging night usage at day rates and vice versa. This is known as transposed readings.
Given an all electric property with storage/immersion heaters, I'd certainly expect more night usage than you've advised, particularly as we're just coming out of winter.
Absolutely agree about taking regular readings as Jalexa advises. However, to nail it straightaway, I would do the kettle test. Take a reading, boil a kettle and take another reading.
Do this between 10am and 9pm. See what register has moved. This will be the day usage.
Let us know if, as suspected, the readings are the wrong way round. We've a specialist Transposed Readings Team. Talk to them and they'll re-bill your account correctly.
They'll also check to see how the readings became flipped in the first place and take the necessary action to stop it happening again.
Hope this helps Merekat. Give me a shout if you need any more info. Will be happy to help.
