Help,Operator totally changed our flights 2diff 1 n still charging us the higher cost

We booked a holiday 2 months ago and first hol abroad with our now 2.5yr old so our main important factors were time traveling and flight times and getting back in time for my self employed job in the evening at 6pm , after our search we decided on spain and 1.30pm flight time and same time on return to uk, there were a lot cheaper flight prices but we paid £60 extra per person for these flights over the evening flights which wouldn't get us in til nearly midnight. The balance was due 3 weeks ago so paid the remainder.

Received an e mail today with flight changes and when I have checked they must have basically cancelled the flight we booked on and ran the cheaper later flight- the flights are still available on this flight at now a cost of £26 each (we had paid £86 each for 3 of us)

tried to get through to customer services for on the beach through their sales line (cust services is 50p per min !!!) - but they are shut early cos of bank hol

can anyone tell me where we stand as to make changes to the holiday is gonna cost £80 each !!! in their t n c's- but this isnt the holiday we booked and if we are gonna have to cope with the flight changes why should we still be stung for the extra cost of the original flight and I am gonna lose money from not working that evening so would lose money from not working 2 Mondays instead on just 1

there is another flight available at better flights for close to the price we paid but to a further airport in spain (extra £14) - I would prefer for them to let us transfer to that - but if we have to stick with this later flight i would lose the extra paid + 1 nights extra work

anyone throw any light on what we can do as I feel sure they will make us try n stick with the flight change at the dearer price -

thanks in advance -

checked again at other options there is also now a daytime flight at a local airport to us at a lot cheaper with the same airline - so ideally have extra money we paid £186.50 back and have the flights changed - do you think they would do this as they are the ones who have changed the conditions we booked under not us, if we where checking on the off chance to see how much they were now and they had gone down I wouldn't be bothered cos i understand they go up and down - but cos they have totally changed it why now shouldnt we - just so annoyed now (btw paid by barclaycard debit ) thanks

Don't waste your time trying to contact the agent (On the Beach) since it is the airline that has cancelled your flights and made alternative arrangements for you. Contact the airline; explain that you are unhappy with the flight times they have offered you and would prefer to take the alternative flights that you have found (well done for doing your research). The chances are that they will agree.

It is unlikely that you have any right to money back unless the flight times have been changed by at least four hours, and even then getting any compensation would be more trouble than it is worth..

    thanks for the replies
Damm Ryan air shut at 7pm have to try tomorrow morning :-(

yes over 4 hrs in the time difference the original flight time was leaving Manchester at 13.15 pm and now is 18.15 so 5 hrs and back an extra difference of over 8hrs was leaving 13.00 and now 21.55 ( does the amount of time changed by make a difference ??)

plus checkout is 10am and would have to pay extra for late check out.

    thanks again

Ryanair are usually pretty accomodating when they have changed flights. If it works out best for you to cancel and then rebook, just cancel it!

Do you have your Ryanair booking reference etc? If you do ring Ryanair directly tomorrow.

Did you know otb were using ryanair flights when you booked cause surely it would have been cheaper to book the flights directly with ryanair and cut out the middle man. Its not like you've got any security by booking with otb as its not a package.
