Laptop DVD Player

I have an old laptop which my 4 year old son uses to play educational games. He asked the other day to watch a DVD, but it said I didn't have a decoder. I use a Mac, and wondered if I could put something onto a flash drive and copy it onto the lap top. I use wireless internet connection and would not j=know hot to hook the laptop up to my hub. Thanks

Try downloading and installing VLC media player - it will probably play it Ok.
However, if it's a very old laptop with budget graphics chipset it may not have enough grunt to playback properly - try it and see.0 -
+1 for VLC. As for being old, unless its over a decade and a half old it'll have no problem playing a DVD. Quite why people seem to think DVD playback on computers is a recent development I don't know. Computers were able to play video files with higher resolution than DVD before DVD was invented.0
