    :o What a numpty am I! :rotfl:

You're right: complementary would be, say, putting alcohol on your hair alongside a treatment to make it work better, or faster, or whatever.

    Complimentary would be free.

I don't know why I got it wrong, it's not something I usually do.

Mind you, I nearly suggested saying "Free glass of sparkling wine for all customers" to avoid any possible error. :rotfl:

Glad that's cleared it up and I'm not proposing that alcohol will aid hair treatments! Thanks for the feedback too :D
  • No you can't do it, rule wise.

    Can't do what, rule wise?

    Thanks

I personally would rather have a nice selection of hot drinks - hot chocolate, selection of coffees, herbal tea etc. What about your customers who have driven to your salon? Will they refuse a free (alcoholic) drink ?? Is it one drink per hair cut or unlimited??

surely a better usp would be
we snip for less but give you more
were on top of our job
    etc rather than alcohol
sounds a recipe for disaster to me if someone imbibes and cuts and takes a lug off

a glass of sherry at christmas is more than enough
  • Forget the alcohol, serve alcohol free wine opening night only.

Have a really nice selection of hot drinks, mocha, latte, choc, all that with the squirty cream and bits on top, much better in the daytime, and little biccies on the side. Put a sign in the window saying we can also provide soya milk with our drinks.

Most people drive and so wont want to drink.

    Good luck.

Don't forget to offer non alcoholic drinks on your opening night.......
    Something like.....
Sparkling Elderflower served in a tall straight glass with lots of ice & some slices of lemon & lime.
    Looks great ( errmm like a G & T ) & is always a firm favourite.
  • I think I'd be a bit worried that a slightly merry customer might make rash decisions about their cut which they later regret and blame the stylist for.
