    Your budget? Absolutely any modern laptop will do those tasks with room to spare.

  • Thank you so much for all your replies, we opted for a refurbished Samsung net book as she needs to take it to school and on hols.The desk top was not an option as we already have one in our study and on further thought we swayed towards the samsung net book again.I have just bought the same net book refurbished for my self and it`s as new and very happy with it ,Again many thanks :)

    But you said that it had to have an optical drive for playing DVD's? A netbook does not have an optical drive.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
