Easter Banking Transactions?

What goes on with banking transactions over easter? Sorry if this is a terrible question. I've had a substantial amount of money waiting to come into my account since the 5th. I just don't quite understand why the transactions cease because its a holiday. I thought it was all automated.
Can anyone shed any light on this?
Thanks

Good Friday is only a bank holiday in Scotland.
Easter Monday is only a bank holiday in England, Wales & N.Ireland.

Bacs dont operate on bank holidays, but faster payments do.
Well so cahoot says
If you make a payment online before 5pm (Monday to Sunday, including bank holidays), the payment should arrive at the
destination account on the same day. If made after 5pm, it will arrive the following working day.0 -
Without knowing how much the payment is, whether it's coming from a personal or business account, and what the sending and receiving banks are (ideally the receiving sortcode too) it's impossible to give a definitive answer. And even if it turns out that it's a payment that should be done by Faster Payments if it's out of the ordinary activity on your account it may be held up in Fraud checking until manual confirmation that it's OK is given.0

I think I'd rather take the word of the Government, who say that Good Friday is a public holiday!...richard9991 wrote: »good friday is a bank holiday in the uk
