Do you think they will offer ?

It took us 6 months from first viewing to put our offer in on the place we eventually bought

Yeah, silly men, taking a couple of days to consider a financial transaction worth hundreds of thousands of pounds. They should just go with their gut instinct - if it looks purty, buy it!I can make a decision and an offer within a few hours. My husband on the other hand will take a few days. Flaming men!poppy100 -
Thanks for the replies
The EA has called to arrange a viewing for friday to show new people too, and they are chaseing the other people around.

When we viewed this house I knew as we were walking round that this was "the one", had looked at quite a lot of ones which weren't and I knew whilst looking round them that they were not right for us.
OH loved this one once we were viewing, however before booking the viewing we had walked past it and he said he didn't like it!0 -

Everyone does things a bit differently, some people might carry on looking for a few weeks and come back and make an offer after realising this was the right house for them, some people see only a few houses and then make an offer right away on the best one.
Also some buyers are more serious than others, if people really want to move they might offer right away whereas if they're just browsing then it might take a lot longer for them to make a decision.0 -
If I'd viewed somewhere on Friday that I liked then I might be calling today (assuming not many EAs even open on the bank holidays) ... but that would probably be to arrange a second viewing, rather than to make an offer. You were only killing time and it'll kill you right back0

we waited about a month before putting an offer in as we had to sort finances and get an AIP first, as we didn't want to mess vendors about.0

It took me two years to find this house and then six months of negotiations before we finalised a deal and it then took another six months to get to exchange..I bought my first house on a whim and leaned a very hard lesson..never let your heart rule your head as far as houses are concerned because there are so many out there suitable for you..It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
Thanks for the replies everyone, i am feeling better about the time frames :T
I think i would rather someone took there time to make sure they really wanted it before they got back in touch in any way.
Fingers crossed i get some good news or the ones who come on friday like it
