I don't think this is for the faint-hearted
Some things are better in the dark. Films, for example. Ghost stories, too. Also Pete Doherty’s face. And according to Bowmore Whisky’s ‘Magic Happens On The Darkest Nights’ evenings (7.30pm April 25/26), this includes Dickensian town houses in east London, interactive theatre, artisanal chocolates and whiskey tasting. Alternately blindfolded or led through dimly-lit corridors, guests will apparently be taken on a theatrical journey of the isle of Islay, broken into ‘chapters’ involving the elements of earth, fire, air and water. Frankly, it all sounds a little mysterious, but so long as they manage to recreate this remote Scottish island without resort to sheep droppings, we’re happy. Particularly as it promises master chocolatier Paul A Young making whiskey-laced hot chocolate, plus whisky-paired canapes (think carpaccio of Scottish venison with mustard and capers) from the people behind Green Onions Secret Supper Club. After all, no-one wants delicious comestibles ruined by the smell of sheep doo-doo
