I advertised a car on this site two weeks ago, despite it being the cheapest for its year, being fitted with several extras and being in lovely order, I've not had a single call.

+1
Gumtree usually works for me. I put the advert(s) on fresh every day and make sure there is decent pics.
It will also depend on the car though - cheap end cars are selling steadily (below £1500). We're finding anything much above that needs to be a diesel to have a sporting chance of selling quickly.
Also, buyers expect pretty much a years MOT, especially with the arrival of the new test, people dont want to be bothered with a car with just a month or twos test.0 -
Its not even 3yrs old, so little wear and tear, not thought of gumtree - is it really only for old/cheap cars though?0

I hope you delete the old ad - it really hacks me off when you find the exact same advert half a dozen times
I sold my boxster through usedcarsni.... had a number of calls and it was gone within a fortnight which I reckoned was pretty good.Always overestimating...0 -

Yes, i delete the old ads every day, so prospective customers dont know how long i've had the car.

We generally sell cars on gumtree from £500 to about £6000. I've a Boxster on there at the moment at £13995 and its generated quite a few hits each day and a couple of phone calls.
Newer cars do take longer to sell though so you might have to just wait on the right customer.0 -

After 6 weeks, and no phone calls via either UTV drive or USED CARS NI....we sold the car, via word of mouth!
Is money in short supply or whats going on? It was the best value out there of its make and miles.0
