Can someone tell me how toget rid of ASK? I use Firefox but this ASK -Jeeves is taking up part of the toolbar. In Programmes & it is listed with other browsers etc and when I clickit the full name appears but when I click Uninstall I get the following: "Error opening the installation log file Verify that the specified log file exists and is writable." Hope someone can help with this.

I discovered that I had ASK toolbar.
It should be listed in Control Panel, Programmes.
Click Uninstall and it should be deleted.
Possibly others could offer more advice if this doesn't work.

Yes, it certainly would, but what has a link to "Unable to install KB954430 & KB973688" to do with the Ask toolbar?
If the previously-suggested Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs (or the Windows 7 equivalent) doesn't work, possibly the use of the CCleaner uninstall routines would get rid of Ask (use the CCleaner Slim build download, which is free of yet more toolbars!) Other people recommend Revo Uninstaller.0 -
Another vote for Revo Uninstaller.0

Had a recent case of a Ask Toolbar where it wasn't listed in Add/Remove programs and Revo Uninstaller also didn't see it.
Tried this freeware tool http://www.toolbarremover.com/ and it did the job.0 -
I've got a feeling the Ask toolbar is a Firefox browser add-on. You could try Firefox's Tools -> Add-ons - Extensions and uninstall (Remove) from there.
