Rapport is interfering even when working offline

You're presumably concerned about security - running rapport - I presume you bank online.
You're running an outdated, unsupported, insecure Operating system - XP sp2.
You're also trying to install an outdated, unsupported, insecure program - Adobe Reader 7x
You'd do well to make the system more secure by updating to SP3 and updating any insecure programs.
This is actually exactly the sort of person Rapport is aimed at.
It is not in general aimed at the knowledgeable who keep their PC's all fully up to date and are aware of the things that lurk on the internet at the click of a mouse.
It is aimed at those who do none of these things, have one/a few passwords for everything they do on the web (Rapport blocks this sort of thing), will click on anything and everything and if they ever had an anti-virus package then it's never updated anyway.
Sad to say I've seen this thing on people's PC's - and they use these computers for online banking......... I even been told by one user that the "virus protection still works even though I've stopped paying the subscription" - yeah right, all the updates stopped didn't they - they clearly had and still have no idea that they don't have any idea.
Of course no online provider can disguish between the tech saavy and those who are anything but. So quite logically they say sod 'em and ask them all to install what is sometimes called crapport.
It is much the same way as we all have to endure speed cameras and fines despite the fact that most people don't speed everywhere everyday. However there is a significant minority who simply will not obey the speed limit no matter how many times they are asked: so we get speed cameras.0 -
Daughter2 has opened a Norwich & Peterborough bank a/c to use abroad.
Interestingly, their on line banking doesn't work with Google Chrome if you have Rapport as well!!

Why is Rapport Crap? Why should It be uninstalled as said expresso above, I use it for what it says it does and never have had a problem, but I will take advice from the informed."Imagination is more Important than knowledge"0

The reasons have been extensively given in the psots above. Have a read.letsbehonest wrote: »Why is Rapport Crap? Why should It be uninstalledpoppy100 -
I removed Adobe as an easy way to gain disc space, but when the 'critically low' warning came up I took the drastic step of uninstalling SP3, as I had some vital banking to do. I have to wait until the 13th when my allowance is renewed to download SP3.You're running an outdated, unsupported, insecure Operating system - XP sp2.

That Adobe version was one that I had on an old CD. Adobe reminds me, though, of the latest version every time I use it!0 -
Why do you want to re-install an old insecure version?Kernel_Sanders wrote: »That Adobe version was one that I had on an old CD. Adobe reminds me, though, of the latest version every time I use it!
