I have a kia seddona 2.9cdri and im thinking of buying either a Renault traffic or transit minibus . the insurance will be for normal driving nothing comercial and fully comp .
would the mini bus be a higher group to insure

buy a 8 seater vw caravelle,as most insurers class them as estate cars
great cars,and tend to hold thier value very well0 -
Also ask if you use your no claims on a commercial vehicle, Can you use it on a private car later.
Mate lost his no claims when they wouldnt transfer it back.
Higher group vehicles are not always dearer to insure.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
If you insure a commercial vehicle, then you will only be able to have commercial insurance on it. As well as a car, I own an LDV Convoy which, as I live in a block of flats, gets mainly used for over-spill storage. I have it insured as I use it when me car is in for servicing, but having phoned loads of companies and used all the comparison sites, all I could do was to insure it under a commercial vehicle policy.
Mind you, if someone needed something large delivered, you'd be covered.
Downside however is that most commercial policies limit NCD to a max. 45% as opposed to 75% for private cars.Never Knowingly Understood.
