Now folks,
Im after a camera, needs to be able to record hd movies, to be used to take pictures of my kids when out and about. Ie on holiday, days out
Been using my phone (htc sensation )and a cheap Sony camera that was 12mega pixels,
Any one recommend a good one? Will have up to £200 to spend.

PANASONIC Lumix DMC-TZ20 Compact Digital Camera
I have one of these,
Great camera.
Small so easy to lug around.
HD Video
Big zoom.
GPS.
Really good battery life (from experience).
The trouble with asking for advice on cameras is that there are so many people with so many views and so much advice, they usually go on about megapixels and many words I do not understand.
All I can say is that I have this camera and I love it. I have previously had a Panasonic FZ38? and a Fuji Finepix (cant remember which model) bridge camera but this one is so compact and easy to use.
For an idiot like me it has been perfect!

I've just decided to buy a new compact decent zoom camera and have narrowed it down to Lumix TZ8.
I noticed the TZ20 has been mentioned above, and I've been comparing the older models with that one. The price puts me off compared with what you get from it. If you check a lot of the reviews from TZ20 down wards, so the TZ18, the TZ10, there is problems with noise and suchlike, and a couple even say the TZ8 is superior to that aspect (but some things are silly on the others like say a GPS unit that doesn't quite work/battery eats) and then obviously things are better on other units higher up from the TZ8, like HD recording/formats.
But you can get the TZ8 for £115 brand new and shouldn't be disappointed. Which is why you should always get reviews for older cameras. Older cameras are not necessarily worse cameras than their future counterparts. TZ models are reasonably rugged too, so should take some abuse (usual wear tear and small knocks) But if you are interested in something like the TZ20, look backwards at the TZ8 as well.0
