Car Hire Pay on collection

I am looking to book car hire for orlando in october but don't want to pay until I collect the car is there any car hire companies that do this?

I go to the USA a lot and always book a hire car with Alamo.com
You can make the reservation now (or at any time up until you travel) and you get a confirmed reservation and you don't pay until the car is returned at the end of your rental period.

The price you are given on the reservation is in $US and although this is a confirmed amount, the final price that you pay can vary slightly as it will depend on the £/$ exchange rate at the time your credit card is debited. (you have to give your credit card details when collecting the car).

The reservation can be amended or cancelled without any charge at any time prior to you picking up the car, and I often change my bookings when Alamo bring out a new offer.

If you get a quote, go to www.Alamo.com and at the top of the page you wil see a "Hot deals" tab. and you will see their latest discounts (usually something like $15 of a weekly rental or $20 of a weekend rental).

usually booking through a US agency directly will not include any insurance/insurance waivers...so would be careful as the final price will be much higher once those are added in - unless coverage is avaialble another way.

I used to always book through www.dollar.com - which I paid nothing up front - as I have car hire insurance as a benefit of a US credit card, but in the last few years it has been much more cost effective to book through a UK third party with all the various insurance waivers included.

When you book with Alamo.com. you have to put your country of residence in via a drop down box, and when you choose the UK, the full insurance coverage is added

I've just done 2 quotes for a full size car for 2 weeks in October, and the .co.uk site was £341 and the .com site was $483/£304
