    In my experience Union Representitives are very much 'Company People' so dont assume they will be out to get the best they can for you.

    You know the kind of people i mean; The one and only guy who gets to work a day shift in the factory after he becomes a rep. Yadda, yadda.

    I was speaking from experience when I got displaced last year

    I'm not on about the rep's because I could be a rep - but the general secretary of the union that helped me

    i'm so pleased for you!:T i was going to say have other staff members been allowed to keep daytime hours? and especially as you mentioned the reason he gave up his last job.

    hopefully he won't ever need our help again IYKWIM, but at least he now knows once he has been there a year he will be more protected.
