cant store ipod tunes to xbox 360

I have both of these and can play the ipod through the xbox 360. What I can't do however is store the ipod tunes to my xbox hard drive. Can anyone advise on how this is done.

I have been playing the last week or so with my 360 trying to get it to play media files from my pc, I had it working from my laptop a few weeks ago but the fan faild so I have been trying to sort it to work from my pc and having problems.

Tonight I have been to a mates who I gave a 360 to and we have been playing with various different types of media file.
We managed to get it to play WMA and mp3 but not AAC, we also had problems with video files it only likes WMV files, You would need to convert the AAC files to mp3 or WMA to play them on the 360.

To play AAC you need to download the ipod upgrade via Xbox live

If you go on xbox live you can download the patch which lets you play aac tracks.

Dunc, I've done this and can play tracks through the ipod, I'm just struggling on how to store them to the harddrive. I was just wondering if this is possible. thanks tho

With regards to copying music from your ipod onto the xbox's hd, I'm afraid this isn't possible.
The xbox will only play files off a device directly connected to one of it's usb ports.

    So you could either
    (a) get a cheap 2.5" laptop drive and case (no psu needed and no fan so quieter!), copy your music onto this and leave it plugged into the back of your xbox360.

    or
    (b) stream the music directly from a pc.

I use method (b) and use TVersity (http://www.tversity.com/) as the server software.
As well as streaming music it also handles photos and video.
And the killer feature regarding video is that is does on-the-fly conversion to WMV
I use it and it has successfully handled all the avi (divx) and quicktime files I've thrown at it.

    Hope this helps!

(ps. this is a good quick start guide to serving video. Music and photos work in the same fashion... http://www.engadget.com/2006/11/25/finally-on-the-fly-wmv-transcoding-for-the-xbox-360/comments/2785970/)
