I've got a lot of walls that need sanding.....

......and I've seen a gidget that might help.
Let me try and describe it....
you know DIY SOS? Every now and again you get a glimpse of a sanding tool that looks like one of those flat floor mops but with sandpaper instead of a fluffy duster.
I want one of those.
I'm scared of heights, I have high ceilings and need something that would help a tubby shortarse like me do a better job of getting the walls ready for paint.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? What are these things called? Where do they come from? Are they mail order?
All help gratefully received.
Thanks!

A pole-sander or if you have an extension pole for a roller you just buy the sander head.

be prepared for some hard work though... sanding walls and floors with one of them really gets the old ticker going0

Pick one up from ebay for cheap:

If you have not used a pole sander before there quite hard to get the hang of as they tend to flip over if even preasure is not used.An alternative would be a hand sander which you will have more controll over especially on walls. You can even buy them with a hoover attachment when used with mesh paper eliminates almost all the dust0

What about doing lining paper instead ?Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

Thanks for all your replies.
The walls have had lining paper, about 50 years worth of wallpaper and industrial strength wood chip taken off. I've just taken so much time and effort to get the walls back to bare plaster there is simply no way I want to see another roll of paper!
I want them sanded and painted. Definitely.
I've found a ToolStation here in Wolves and I'm off first thing tomorrow - well maybe after I've visited HobbyCraft! Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0
