Incredibly Cheap Home Insurance - Contents Only

I am a tenant so only need contents insurance. And its also bloody hard getting a good price as I live in NI. All the quites from the Pru to Endsleigh have been betwen £150 and £220 for £40000 of cover.

I received a quote online from Derbyshire Building Soceity for £56.27. With monthly repayments fo just over £5.

Pretty damned good deal I'd say!

edit: the AA quoted me £150 and NI's Northern Bank quoted me over £700!!!

As far as I know Derbyshire sell a rebranded Norwich Union policy
did you get a quote from NU direct? to compare.

Sometimes particular postcode areas can come out cheap for one provider-

However as per my prvious message, if the rates are correct, then NU direct or a good broker should be able to source it and in some cases going direct/ broker can have other advantages ( online discounts, cashbacks , advice....)

Norwich Union do not quote for Northern Ireland directly but refer you to Autoline in County Down. They quoted me £90 for £15000 of cover.

The quote from The Derbyshire has an excess of £50, single high value cover of up to £1500 and policy increases by £3000 30 days before and 30 days after a wedding, your birthday and Christmas.
