Such a shame because the original purchase was half price at the time.
As now discontinued I have had to cough up ££ to get something near equal.0 -

This worth seeing if you can get some kind of goodwill. Write to head office explaining how you are a regular Argos customer and for the first time experienced a problem with their product. You have recently noted the fact prices have risen and wondering if they could offer an alternative to a refund as a gesture of goodwill.
Worst they can do is say no0 -

Too late. I have already coughed up the difference for another product.
I just wanted to double-check if I was having the wool pulled over my eyes or not ?? Weird though - had Argos had the item in stock and replaced mine for free it may have been back at the normal (double what I paid) price too.0 -

but it wouldn't work any differently - personally I would not want the same product/model as just expired after 3 months no matter how much it's 'priced at' now - there is every chance the same might happen again - so I'm baffled :xmassmile
price/discounts really has some very weird affect on some peopleWhen will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?0 -

I doubt very much if there has ever been a range of items made that has never had one or more of them fail at some point.
Using the Logic quoted above, there wouldn't be a single car, TV, DVD player or other man made item being sold that could be trusted as one or more of them would have failed at some point.0
