References for renting room

Hi,

I want to rent a room in a house share.

I work full time, my GF has just come over from Peru and cannot work here at the moment because of visa and she is here for 6 months. Also bit tricky getting references for her and getting them translated.

Do you think its possible that a landlord or whoever is running the flatshare would let out a room, based on my references and employment status?

Also my credit rating isn't great either.

Apologies, I know nothing really about the renting market.

Any genuine help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I'm renting a room in a house share and wasn't asked for references. I was only asked to prove I worked which I had to get a letter from my employer confirming my contract.

The landlord asked for a deposit plus one months rent.

Im renting privately if that helps.
