Slightly off topic, but if you find it preferable to wake your PC using an input device, you might also like to know that many BIOSes can be configured to cold boot your PC from a keypress or mouse-click...

Personally I wouldn't use wake on keyboard or mouse because it tends to wake up when not wanted due to the mouse signalling a movement when there wasn't any. I much prefer pressing the power button to wake my system up because it saves unnecessary wake ups.

Simply dusting or anyone moving near the mouse could wake up the PC, whereas with the power button wake ups it doesn't happen.
