Annual mileage likely to increase

Is it a limited mileage policy? Does the full policy wording refer to the mileage estimate you gave in any way?
If not (and the answer will almost certainly be no to both the above) then don't worry about it. If they want to restrict anything based on mileage then they have to say so in the contract (and they can't invalidate the legally required cover for it anyway).0 -

Post 4 states my insurance company's position. Convince me they are wrong.
I don't recall offering an argument, please clarifyThis is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0 -
If you tell them you may get hit with a small premium increase. If you don't I don't know what would happen, but I would not like to worry about it. I would tell the insurance company my circumstances had changed."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

My circumstances changed and my annual mileage went up from 5000 to 15000 miles a year. The premium also went up by £50.0

I thought mileage was a material fact that had to be disclosed should your circumstances ever change... after all you'd lower it to get the return premium so why would you then not ring them and tell them your doing far more mileage.
The reason they charge more is because they believe that if your on the road more your more likely to get into a knock here or there and therefore charge the appropriate premium for the risk presented to them.
Whether or not the insurer would repudiate a claim I really don't know...
Taking a sample from my insurers policy booklet Aviva they say the followingWhere the annual mileage has been exceeded, the premium
will be increased to that which applies to the mileage driven. If we become aware that the annual
mileage has been exceeded at the time of a claim, an additional premium will be charged. The higher
premium will apply from the commencement of the period of insurance.0 -
It is indeed down to the specific policy.
I gave an estimated annual mileage of 10K to my broker, but the actual policy says "up to 35,000 miles". Last year it was unlimited.
Nobody on this forum can tell you for certain, not unless you basically post all your insurance documents and have someone read them for you.0
