I agree that it's nicer tiling to the floor
is there much work involved in removing the boards and making the wall good for tiling? also, is there any sort of trim to bo between the black floor tiles and white wall tiles?
There isnt much work removing skirting, just crow bar off, if som of the wall comes away dont worry, the wall doesnt need to be plastered to tile ove, just fill with bondin or pack out with tile adhesive and just make sure the tiles are level.
Go down to the floor and fill the gap with grout, skirting cant be that thick and most wall tiles are around 1cm.
the grout line will look so much better than havin 2 tiles with a skirting between.
Although the grout is used to fill between tiles it can also be used to iron out discrepancies of many kinds.

I would remove and refit light switch for tiles or board. You could bodge it and fit tiles or board around the switch, both would look really shody. Boarding is far easier ..... IMHO.
by putting your reply in bold you are saying that i would do a shoddy job, to cut a square hole in a board & get this over a light switch would mean removing the switch completely fitting the board then re-fitting the switch, tiling however means the screws can be taken out & tiles fitted behind the switch then the switch re-fitted without disconnecting the electrics to the switch, trying to move a board around in such a small space with a wc, basin etc may be a nitemare so it may not be easier, as this is the op first go at tiling i'm guessing he doesn't really wanna mess about with ripping off skirting boards & disconnecting electrics & all the associated mess that could cause.I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0
