We were taught Latin when i first went to Grammar school, many moons ago now. The teacher also taught music and had a little stick like like a baton and when teaching Latin use to regularly use it.
To write Latin sentences i remember him saying over and over again .... Subject; Object; Verb .......... Subject; Object; Verb. Then he'd get his little cane out and say ..... The Master Hits The Boy; The Master Hits The Boy. ....... The master is the subject; hits is the verb and the boy is the object.
What would they say if schools did that now ?Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
