macbook - track pad problems

hi all,
we are having major probe with the track pad.
it suddenly has a mind of its own, opens things, deletes text etc.
no idea what s happened - any ideas on solving the issue?
we are 6 mnths out or warranty....thanks in advance.

    Does it do it both on battery and on charger?

    Take it in to an Apple store if you're near one. There usually pretty good with this kind of stuff, even if your Macbook is out of warranty.

    Yes both on battery or on charge.
    We are a 4 hr round trip to the nearest apple store unfortunately.
