How dare Argos accuse me of this!

Hi, I had this problem with a deep fat fryer, it was a return because it still had oil in the bottom and I got it all over when I took it out of the box, when I took it back Argos were great but there were not any left at that store got immediate refund on card.0

We have had several things from Argos in the past which have either been used or opened with bits missing, if we ever buy anything from them now we check to make sure the original manufactures seals look unbroken.
If they are not sealed we always insist on checking them over before we leave the shop then there is no way they can accuse us of having used or damaged them.0 -
I'm betting rather than it being a member of staff swapping the item it was a customer returning it and whomever accepted the return completely failed to check the goods.
and the item found its way into the stock system, it isnt hard to put any faulty items in a certain area so when the time comes the staff send the faulty items back.0 -
I would have thought that the onus would be on the retailer to prove that the customer has swapped the printer. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0

You're assuming the goods was returned as faulty and not because the consumer changed their mind (as their returns policy allows). So it would be easy for a slack member of staff to just whack it back in the stock system0 -
Any joy from the Director's office?
If not, off to Trading Standards with you!
