It refers to the proposals to allow the security services to be able to access anyone's phone calls, texts and e-mails without even a warrant.

So, as it's in such a good cause, why not save them some time and trouble?

Government Communications HQ (GCHQ) is the super secret place (just outside Cheltenham) where they do all this wizzy stuff.

Oh great, just tell the world that the giant building that you pass going into Cheltenham with signs saying 'GCHQ' is GCHQ.
I bet ahmedinajad has taken note

    (not checked for spelling, btw)

In my large local Sainsbury's they have swapped the positions of the own brand herbs with the Schwartz versions.

So like a doughnut I just took the ones from the left of the display like I usually do, without thinking and I ended paying more for Schwartz rather than the own brand.

I agree with everyone else. This is far from being a scam.

Would it be a scam if a different "doughnut" blindly picked up something from the right of the display that they believed was Schwartz only to get home and discover they bought own brand at a reduced price?

The whole point of this is to bring different products to the attention of the customer. You are responsible for what you put in your basket

The only way I think you could argue it was a scam would be if the packaging was near identical and then they swapped them around but they look quite different to me on the web
Apparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen

They do it already. There's a comms sat up in space called Echelon which sifts through billions of stuff. Are they going to come clean now :rotfl:

As for Tesco, Sainsbury's and Waitrose with their loyalty cards, are they any better ? The supermarket learns exactly what you buy, when and where, whether you prefer cash or plastic, whether you drink or smoke, are pregnant or have kids, buy compost for your garden, like whoopsies, use coupons etc etc
  • Not to sound rude... But isn't this scamming yourself? It's not their fault if you don't look... And surely the tub feels different anyway?

Can't you just return it next time you go shopping?

Fully admit I should have been more observant, but these stores know how we switch off some times.

I can't be bothered taking them back, just learnt another little lesson :D
  • I hate it when supermarkets deliberately try to deceive you with offers, like this week I got a pizza, garlic bread and salad in M&S as part of a meal deal offer. The pizza was displayed at eye level in the chiller, and right next to the pizzas were garlic breads and salads. BUT these were not the ones included in the offer (it was a slightly different salad and a pack of 2 garlic breads). The single garlic baguette and salad included in the offer were tucked away right at the top of the chiller (and with hardly any stock left) where you wouldn't automatically see them. It was clearly a way of deliberately encouraging people to pick up the wrong products, I bet loads of people did this and ended up paying more by mistake.

Sainsburys is so expensive compared to all the other supermarkets! Everyone is saying it! 5 people have actually told me the same in the past week or so and I expect many more on here think the same too!
