We was in the same position with our wedding but had most the things you would norm get from a wedding, kettles, plates, bed etc as combining 2 homes.
Thing is with vouchers you have to try and spend what your given at that store or then add to it.
What we did was a 'wedding wishing well' sent a poem out with the invites explaining we had the above etc and then the guest can place an envelope inside with cash/cheque. Its a nice polite way of asking for Money without being rude. Lots of people do this nowadays.
We picked up a wishing well of ebay and had it inside the entrance of the venue for the evening doo.
This way you can spend what and where you like.0
