can't print using Epson app for iphone4

I have an iphone 4 and bought the epson print app for it as I have an Epson SX425W wifi scanner/printer/copier at home so thought the app might be handy. But I've never been able to print from my iphone using it. I am on virgin wifi at home.
I get this error message:
cannot find printer ssid:virginwireless.
check the network settings for this device and the scanner/multi-function printer, and check that the scanner/multi function printer supports this software.
I'm not sure what to do even if I could check the settings. Can anyone help me fix this so that I can print from my iphone? TIA.
