First Direct eBanking "Available Balance"

Hey guys,
I've just opened a first direct account with the intention to move from HSBC.
The eBanking has just been setup and I can now login, but i'm used to seeing two figures, "Balance" and "Available Balance"
Does the First Direct account overview page "Balance" show your balance, minus any pending transactions (from uncleared visa transactions?)
Thanks!
Liam

No. For a bank with an excellent telephone banking service its online facilities are not great.
The available balance is shown when you are about to make a transfer or pay a bill. That's the only place it is shown to my knowledge.0 -
Thanks for the reply, alanq - That's insane.
They described their ebanking as "Beautifully designed", which is one of the reasons I switched. As a web developer, I have no idea how they can call it beautifully designed.
Also, their text description of "balance" is incredibly complicated. It talks about how it can include processing transactions, which made me think it did.
At least I can still get to it somewhere in eBanking, and at least I don't need to carry about a calculator thing like I did with HSBC!0 -
I have to agree it's not the best design and they can learn alot from how Lloyds TSB do their online banking. Nice and clean with all the sales stuff out the way over on the right not cluttering up the main internet banking stuff. Unlike FD where it seems more cluttered with sales stuff and banking stuff all together mixed in on the left side.0
