'Maxim Intelligent Bin' but not seen them on there anymore. Dont know if anyone else has seen them but if i do a a google search nothing comes up. The RRP was about £99 and they were going on there for about £45, should have got one when i could but just seemed a lot to spend on a bin. They have a sensor on them so you dont have a pedal or button or anything you just wave your hand over the top and the lid pops up. Very smart!! and hygenic too.

Someone's selling them (30 litre size) on eBay Buy it Now for £40 + £9 delivery.

I work in Sainsbury's & I think every store has a 90% off section, though some have a lot bigger and better sections than others. I work in a smaller "Central" branch, so ours isn't that big, though we do have some decent things like minidiscs and CD-RWs on sale.

Anyway, was mainly posting to mention (if it's not been mentioned already) that you can always get an extra discount if items that are on a multibuy (two punnets of Strawberries for £2.50, for example) are also individually reduced due to damage or being near to their sell-buy date (since the multibuy still applies).

Here's an example of how it works:

Strawberries normallly £1.74 or two for £2.50
Price for two without multibuy = £3.48
    Multibuy discount = £0.98

Strawberries I bought today were reduced to £0.99 each since they had little date left.

    Price for two = £1.98
    Multibuy still applies = -£0.98
Total for two punnets = £1

It works with all reduced multibuys though, so try it!

P.s. A while ago we sold freezer bag clips in out 90% off section, but when I scanned them thorough it took 90% off, then an additional 50% off the ORIGINAL price, so it ended up we owed the customer money. I'm pretty sure it was because they used to have only 50% off and someone forgot to remove that discount when they moved them to the 90% discount, but worth keeping an eye out for.

Another tip (related to what I just said) is that you should make sure you don't put items that are going to give you a special discount on the conveyer belt first (or as the only thing you buy) as the cashier is far more likely to notice (as in my frezzer bag example, it makes the total a negative number). If you leave them till last it will just lower the total, but probably not noticeably unless you buy a lot of the item!

    Anyway, hth someone!
    Nice to save.

Apologies for this being off-topic, but it might be of interest to some people who visit this board. It relates to a product withdrawal from Sainsbury's because of a syringe found inside a carton of fresh orange juice.
