What was my house worth in 1991? How can I find out?

Would really appreciate any information that can help me. Just purchased a house and think the tax band is very high for the house. How can I check what the house was worth back in 1991? Has anyone got any suggestions? The houses in the same street are two bands cheaper!!

does it have a extension since 1991.. a conservatory etc, if these have been added since 1991 then they add to the band price when sold.. other houses in the street may have the same but not been sold on ..Those we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear

You could try contacting the LAND REGISTRY, the online details seem to only go back as far as 1995, not sure if they would be able to give you more details if you contacted them
There is a discussion on council tax bands HERE including a few people who have claimed, you might be able to PM them and ask them how they did it.When life hands you a lemon, make sure you ask for tequilla and salt

Is your house the same as the others else maybe you can file an appeal. Also, you can use upmystreet or nethouseprice to check if those houses are being sold / bought recently at prices close to yours (or much cheaper than yours ?).0
