Domain registration and web hosting

Hi
I was wondering if someone can recommend the best options for me to establish a web presence to showcase my textile art associated with my name. I intend to register the domain name hopefully by the end of today and having reviewed as much information as I can (for weeks !!!) I would just really value some guidance for those of you with much more technical skill and awareness than I have in tech things.

Soooo.....Which options would offer me the best value for money and ease of operating? (not necessarily the cheapest)
  • I hope to attract UK and international clients but my domain name will be co.uk simply as the .com version of my name is taken.
  • Capability of including a blog.
  • Capability of showing images of my work.
  • Ideally an email address.
  • At this stage any orders I take I would deal with through paypal rather than a shop system as such but having the option to add that in the future would be good. I am just aware that needs additional site security.
  • On the subject of site security I want to keep this simple as my expertise is in my craft not webdesign hence why the minute I hit my target sales within my business plan I will be heading to a professional web designer.
Hope you can help :)

I'm with https://www.namehog.net and one of my clients has recently taken up web hosting (and domain name registration) with them too. There are probably cheaper alternatives, but I find them to be good.

I like the convenience of having my hosting and domain registration with the same company, but there's no compunction to do so.

If you just want something simple to get an initial presence, the cheapest approach I've found is to buy a domain name wherever, and then point it at one of the free website companies such as Moonfruit - which includes all of the main features you want, such as blog and image gallery.

This is what my sister is using for hers until she can justify a complete build from scratch and paid hosting.
