I agree, but short of actually threatening to chuck him out if he doesn't buck his ideas, I am not sure how much tougher I can be!

Hi All
I’m still nightmarishly busy at work so I haven’t had much time for getting my fix of MSE! I have been very down just lately because of the situation with OH (hoping for an improvement but we will have to see) but also because I have had some real problems with Excel over the past few days so I couldn’t get my spreadsheets to work properly – very very depressing! Anyway, I have managed to sort it today – the formulas wouldn’t update automatically and having done a virus scan and ran the Office diagnostics tool I realised that I had probably done something to Excel by accident! I trawled through the help menu and finally found the solution and was able to change the re-calculate formulas option back to automatic from manual. Lo and behold! My spreadsheets now work properly again. Phew!
Life is still very busy: my Avon delivery comes tomorrow and DS’s birthday is next week so we are planning a bit of a do, which means we have seriously got to get the house clean and tidy. I managed to make a pretty good start over the weekend – the back half of the living room now looks lovely (this was one of my jobs on the housework rota) and I think this has shamed OH into doing the front half (his job).
Anyway, going home soon, so I had better finish now.
Bye all!!PigginSkint's debt free diary

Hi All
Still busy, busy, busy in the PigginSkint household and at work!
My Avon delivery came this morning so tonight’s job will be to bag that up ……… when I eventually get home – I am having to work late tonight to make some inroads into making up my hours (I was so tired last week I didn’t do as many hours as I should have done).
Last night I managed to get all my Avon books ready to go out, so that is one job I haven’t got to do tonight – thank goodness!
OH is paying some money into my bank account for me this afternoon – hooray! I have got one payment going out tomorrow (LTSB) and another going out on Thursday (Amex). In addition there is a PayPal payment (for some cat litter) due to go out of my bank account sometime soon – this was the first time I had done a direct payment from my bank account rather than a credit card so I have no idea how long it is supposed to take.
I left OH instructions today to make some investigations about Christmas jobs and from what I can gather from speaking to him earlier, he has actually made a start! Here’s hoping! Fingers crossed everyone!
We have now decided that DS’s party will be on Monday, which is the actual day of his birthday. I have booked Monday and Tuesday off work as it is half term next week anyway. The good news birthday-party-wise is that my child benefit goes in on Monday so I will actually have some money to spend on food! Luckily the food plan shouldn’t be too expensive – I have had a request from DS for potato wedges (home-made of course) which were a real hit with the kids last time. OH and I like them with garlic mayonnaise (cheap mayonnaise with lots of garlic cloves crushed and mixed in). In addition we are going to do sausages (Iceland probably), chicken drumsticks (I have already got a load of cheap ones in the freezer), pizza (from wherever’s cheapest – either Iceland or Aldi), garlic bread (ditto), sausage rolls (ditto), crisps, pop and anything else cheap I can think of. As I have got the weekend to prepare I shall probably do some home-made stuff as well - I have a yummy recipe for an onion flan, for example (I have always got flour, cooking marg, trex and onions). The kids might not eat it but I will! Also home-made chocolate birthday cake – my speciality! I am not going to bother with sandwiches – cheese isn’t cheap, they never eat them all anyway and they don’t keep like other things do.
Anyway, home soon so bye for now!PigginSkint's debt free diary

Thanks! He had a good day but I am now absolutely cream crackered after spending 3 days tidying, cleaning, shopping, organising, cooking, plus doing Avon. Thank goodness I didn't have to go to work today!PigginSkint's debt free diary

Hi All
Just a quickie update as I have got loads of work to do again – having a couple of days off work is great, but it means having a lot of work to catch up on!
I have gradually been getting all my Avon done – just one delivery to do now. I was scuppered by the rain and the snow the other day – I lost a few books because they got too wet and there were others that were O.K. to go back out……once they had dried off a bit!
Payday today – woohoo!! It’s quite a bit more than usual because all support staff have been given a 5% payrise – that will definitely help make ends meet.
I have just been doing some preliminary figures ready for the 1st November – the totals have definitely gone down, just not by as much as I had hoped.
I have noticed something odd with some of my credit cards – for all of my Halifax ones (Halifax, Amazon Halifax and Intelligent Finance) all of the minimum payments have halved. I have not yet been able to find out why – if anyone knows, please enlighten me! This is not great news debt-busting-wise, but for those of us (and I know there are plenty of us) who struggle to make ends meet every month, it is certainly helpful!
Another odd thing I have noticed recently, this time with my Littlewoods account, I received a letter from them the other day confirming my purchase of an extended service cover plan for the PetVax I bought from them a few years ago. I looked at my online account this morning and there it is, at a cost of £32! I certainly did not place any such order, so I wonder what on earth is going on! I have sent them an email to ask them to explain and to cancel this order.
Oh well, better get on with some work.
Bye for now!PigginSkint's debt free diary

Thanks! Do you know where it was reported?
I was hoping I might have something actually on my statements or something like that, but I can't seem to find anything.PigginSkint's debt free diary
