    Hi All

The show on Saturday was fantastic and we all had a really good time. Unfortunately, because of the red wine I drank with lunch, I had a killing headache all evening so I went home feeling rather sorry for myself! :(

Yesterday was a nice lazy day ...for me anyway...OH did some more decorating. Unfortunately I woke up at 7:30am yesterday morning, still with the bad head, and couldn't go to sleep again - which I could really have done with as I have been struggling to sleep well for a while.

Last night was the piece de resistance - it was 4:30am before I got to sleep! Thank goodness I had a bit of lie in this morning as I had a hospital appointment at 11:00am (no point going to work first). I am still feeling rather spaced out and I hope I sleep better tonight!

And on that cheery note, I will sign off...

    Bye all!

I am still here - honest! I have seriously fallen off the wagon in terms of keeping a track of my finances so I have really no idea how good or bad my debt situation is! One of my new year resolutions is to rectify the situation.

One thing I do know that there is an awful lot on my Barclaycard at the moment (the only one we actually spend on) and nearly all of it is OH's spending. Grrrr!!

On the plus side (and it is a big plus side) OH did a big acting job in November - filmed a big commercial in Los Angeles - and the money from that should be coming through fairly soon. I am not going to specify exactly how much, but it is a LOT! :D One of his priorities once it does come through is to pay a big chunk off the debts.

There has been lots happening in the last few months which I shall have to tackle in bits and pieces over the next few posts. Healthwise things are not really that good for me at the moment which is why I have got so behind with everything. Nothing serious but I have got to have keyhole surgery soon - the sooner the better a far as I am concerned!! More about that in due course.

    Bye for now!

Following on from the previous post...

OH got made redundant from his previous post at the care home in May and has been struggling to find work ever since. He has managed to do a few bits and pieces but not a lot. Acting wise he was going to odd audition - got close a couple of times but nothing doing. His regular acting stuff locally has been a bit thin on the ground. So all in all - it has been a difficult time.

OH went for another audition back in September/October time, and straight away it started to look a bit more promising. It was about 2 weeks before he finally got confirmation that he had got the job.

In November he spent 10 days in Los Angeles and out in the desert. 3 days of that time was actually spent filming. The rest of the time was costume fittings etc, recovering from the flights and some free time.

I can't say too much about the actual advert at the moment - strict confidentiality applies - but it should be shown soon, so I should be able to say something then!

The amount he is being paid is quite a big chunk of money so it
will certainly help the financial situation quite a lot!!

He is planning to buy a car once the money comes through which means he will be employable - lots of the care work round here is mobile. It also means that he will have something for transporting theatre gear, musical gear (he is currently in band) and for camping trips (woohoo!!)

The local acting work is picking up again as they have had some funding come through.

Also, for various reasons that I won't bore you with, there has been the opportunity at my place of work for some casual work a couple of days a week, so he has just finished his second week of work.

OH has told me that whatever he earns from his work at our place he will just give straight to me as his contribution towards the family finances (something that has been rather lacking since May last year!)

All in all, things are starting to look up a bit!!

    Payday today! Woohoo!

OH has finally had his big payday for the advert he filmed recently - quite a nice tidy sum. As a result he has bought a car. A family member of his who knows about cars helped him find it and he got a really good deal. It is a 2006 (I think!) Zafira with about 80K miles on the clock, really good condition, ex motability car so it has been really well looked after, £3000. (He used the credit card to pay for this and then paid this off straight away from his bank account - OH has now had a valuable lesson in internet banking!) OH has also paid for insurance in one lump payment. With help from me and MSE :money:he found a good deal for insurance = £432 for the 2 of us - not bad when you consider that OH passed his test less than 4 years ago. Also, he paid for the tax on it when he bought it. All this means no extra cost to me! :T:T

OH has now also paid £3000 off the Barclaycard - woohoo! (This was in addition to paying off the cost of the car) This is the only credit card we use for spending, it is my account and OH is an additional card holder - nearly all the debt on this card is his grrrrrr!!!

Back on the plus side, OH is working in our office at the moment so his weekly contribution to the family finances has started again. This means that my bank account should recover fairly soon - at the moment it spends most of the month in the red - which will be a happy day indeed!!:D

I am going to finish my cup of tea now and get ready for work.

    Bye all!:hello::hello:

    Hello All :hello:

It has been rather a long time since I posted on here so I think I had better keep this post brief otherwise it might turn into a novel. In brief the story since my last post revolves around being much busier since I changed jobs and, as a result, I have rather taken my eye off the ball when it comes to money management in the sense that I have absolutely no idea what my debt figures are. :o This isn't to suggest that I have being spending on credit cards or anything else willy nilly, just that I haven't updated my spreadsheets for a long time so I have no idea how things stand.

The other major issue (which has probably contributed to the money situation described above) is that I have not been well for quite some time and, to cut a very long story short, I shall be having a hysterectomy sometime within the next 3 months. The reason I have time to post today is that I am off sick again with serious pain as a result of endometriosis. :(

For those of you that have followed my story, OH are still together, still happy (even if he gets on my nerves from time to time :D:D) and he is still not earning very much! He did a very well paid acting job about 18 months ago (which did tide us over for a long time) but there hasn't been all that much since. We have been keeping our heads above water up until now. He has some regular non-acting work at the moment which hopefully should take the pressure off my poor old bank account soon - for the first time in years I am almost permanently in the red but hopefully not for too much longer.

I won't bore the pants off you by writing more now, so I shall sign off and hopefully it won't be so long till I post again

    Bye all!

I do have one question - did you feel better afterwards? Once you had recovered from the surgery, obviously!

I managed to get back to work yesterday, I did feel very tired and a bit wobbly but otherwise not too bad. Don't feel great today - in pain (as always) and I've got a splitting headache.

OH is outside supposedly mowing the lawn (oh happy days) but I haven't heard any noise from either mower or strimmer yet.

Have just checked my bank account and I now £90 short of my OD limit with nearly 2 weeks to go till payday:eek:

I think I need to have quiet word in OH's ear about resuming his contributions to the family finances!

I have to spend sometime this weekend trying to clear out DS's bedroom - it does rather become a bit of a dumping ground for everything when he is away. :o He will be home from University in about a month so I really need to crack on!

DS is studying Marine Biology at Plymouth and has recently found out he got a 1st for his dissertation! I am very very proud!!:j:j:j:j

    Bye for now!

Another carpy day at work :( There is just too much to do, too little time to do, too few of us trying to do it, and then I am feeling rubbish as well. The sooner I have this surgery the better.

I am being referred to Occy Health but my boss wants a letter from my Consultant before this can be done. I will speak to her secretary tomorrow morning but whether this is possible, I don't know. Without an Occy Health referral I can't get any adjustments in order to help me cope. I have a long commute and get very tired - working from home a day or 2 a week would be very helpful.

The old bank account is still looking very unhealthy - only £30 of available balance  Just got to hope no bills go out before OH can pay some money into my account. Also got to hope that OH can pay enough into my account to cover the bills that are still due to go out between now and payday, which is still over a week away!

I could really do with OH earning some more money...lots more money. I could really do without the trip to Liverpool in a few weeks time for OH to run the marathon. Had to book the hotel last night and came to just over £300 for 2 nights :eek: It's lovely that OH does these things but the expense always ends up going on the credit card which, let us not forget, is in my name and I pay the Aminimum payment every month.

OH does his best but it does get really really annoying!!:mad:

Sorry for the negative post - not feeling terribly positive today. :(
