Well the head is not hurting quite as much this morning - thank goodness! I have not had a migraine as bad as that for a very long time - 36 hours is lasted and I had to stay in bed all day yesterday (lights off, eye mask on for a large part of the day , all sound kept to the lowest level possible!)

Back to work today for one day only and then no work for 4 whole days! Woohoo!!

Suppose I should get up and get dressed now.

    Bye all!

In Moneysaving news....our new railcard has arrived! Woohoo:jI have bought a TwoTogether railcard for me and OH so we can save on rail travel when we go together - which we tend to do for longer rail journeys. Only £30 for the year and we will save nearly that amount on our first booking. We are going to London on the 30th to see a show (not cheap at £95 for the 2 of us , but it is a bit of one off). It is something of works outing (about 16 or 17 of us going) because the daughter of one of our senior colleagues (who is one of the party) is actually in the show as one of the leading actors. I won't give away too much by revealing the name of the show, but if I say that the four actors who play the lead role are all 9 or 10 year old girls, you might guess which one I am talking about! ;)

(:shhh: shhh - I am being a bit naughty by posting this at work, but just needed a little distraction! :naughty:)

One other bit of money news I missed - it's pay day today!!!

And in even better news - I have had a pay rise! :j
We have all had a slight increase across the board (2%, but I have a feeling that we got 1% of this earlier in the year, so this month it is just an increase of 1% - I think!) and I have had an automatic increment so I have gone up one salary point on the scale for my job grade. Woohoo!!!!:j:beer::j:beer:

Finally gave in today and bought Office for my new laptop - I say new, I have had it at about a year! The old one (which still sort of works but is painfully slow) was a reconditioned one so it has it on already - albeit an old version. Cost me £59.99 for a year's subscription, but that was cheaper than the pay monthly option. I have tried to manage without but that fact that all my spreadsheets are a year behind, tell their own story! Have started with the ones for the Littlewoods catalogue today. Will do some more tomorrow.

Just got back from the cinema where we went to see the first episode of the new series of Dr Who, plus the behind the scenes special afterwards, then the live Q&A. Loved it! :D OH paid and we bought some bottles of pop and packets of popcorn from a convenience store to take with us, instead of paying for the overpriced stuff they sell at the cinema.

Back at work today - oh joy!

I managed to get quite a lot of my spreadsheets updated over the long weekend - but still loads to do.

Need to do some internet banking today - at least one of my bills (Littlewoods catalogue) needs paying this week. Thank goodness for the early payday this month!

I have just bought our tickets to go to London for the day on Saturday - £61.10 return for the 2 of us (that is the total price). We can normally get it quite a bit cheaper than than, so I am a little surprised at the cost - bearing in mind that this is with the Two Together railcard - it would have been even more without it. I could have got it for about £10 cheaper than this, but I looked at the overview of the journey, it was only allowing us 5 minutes between connections - not worth the risk!!

Anyway, I suppose I must do some work now. Bye for now!

Testing, testing....I am attempting to do this from my iPhone to see if it works or if I make a mess of it like the last time I tried!

    Happy Friday everyone!

I managed to oversleep this morning - that's what comes of not sleeping well! Luckily it is a quiet time at work so it didn't really matter that I only got here at about 9:30am!

I am so tired though, really struggling to stay awake. Need more caffeine I think.

I had been looking forward to my Saturday lie-in tomorrow. However, tomorrow is the day of our trip to London. It promises to be a lot of fun, but it means I shall have to drag myself out of bed much earlier than I would normally do on a Saturday!

I have just done a bit of internet banking - paid a few bills that are not on Direct Debit. It is strictly minimum payment only at the moment while OH is out of work and not giving me his normally weekly contribution to the family finances.

OH has found a few leads for work - some of it casual, some permanent. These include a couple of jobs where I work that he is going to apply for. We can manage....just...on my salary alone but it if I going to tackle my debts in any serious way, I really need him to be working and soon!

Oh well, must get on with some work I suppose. Bye all!!
