I need Contract Hire/ Lease advice!

Hi Guys,

I'm currently in the process of looking for deals on a business contract hire/ lease - at the moment I am looking at either c class coupe/ SLK/ audi a4 on a 24 months contract.

I have seen some very good deals on the Mercedes, however, when i actually called up the leasing company they are telling me the prices are for last quarter and now its gone up - so i guess i missed the boat on that one :mad:

Can anyone please provide me with any tips on contract hire/ lease as this is the first time i have done it! i.e. what month companies has the best deal, things i should look out for, any good website that you recommend etc?

Much appreciated :D

Jonny

Go for the deal and not the car. That is, find a car that is either about to be upgraded or is unpopular so broaden your scope.

Get a spread sheet up an running so you can compare lease with other ways of buying (cash, PCP etc).

You need to know what a good deal is.

Before the world collapsed I worked on a ratio of monthly payments versus cheapest I could reasonably buy the car. In my case it was a Grand Cherokee which had a purchase price of £33000 I paid £350/month ie close to a ratio of 100.

If the ratio is over 100 then you had a real steal. If the ratio was below 70-75 then you were being done (or should find it cheaper to buy by other means).

As I say I have now stopped leasing as most of the deals since 2007 have been poor. These ratios probably need tweaked a little but you will soon start spotting the real deals.

Which ever leasing company you go with make sure you are on the ball with all the T&C (for example Mercedes Benz don't cover VED whilst most do). Six months up front (normally 3) is a bit of a scam normally.
