Been viewing Vivaro vans this week and I noticed that 2 had 12 months tax that cost £135 and a third had 6 months that cost £117.50, I did a car check using an app on my phone and the 3rd van was shown as costing £135 for the year, if I bought the van hoe would I appeal against the mistake? All 3 vans are identical spec, same year and same engine.
Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.

Appeal what mistake? DVLA is the only site you should use to verify the tax status. Use the Vehicle Enquiry link on the DVLA website, enter the reg and manufacturer and it'll tell you whether it is currently taxed and how much a new disc will be.0

What are the expiry dates? The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.

Why would that matter? Tax only goes up a few quid a year, identical vehicles £135 and £210 looks like a mistake somewhere.Stephen_Leak wrote: »What are the expiry dates?Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0 -

Best I can think of is if they are 2003 vans then the expensive one was registered before march 1st so is euro 3 and the cheap ones were after march 1st so are euro 40

Sorry been offline for a bit, the 2 cheap vans are 1.9 cdti registered 04 and the dearer one is also 1.9cdti on a 54 plate. Confused isn't the word to describe me at the minute.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

i considered buying an Alfa until i looked on parkers for the road tax
i dont mind doing my bit because were all in this together but im not paying for everyone0 -
Vans pay more road tax cos they drive all over the place and hog every lane.
But it'l be to do with the reg date of the vans. I think March 2006 is when the rates changed massivly for emissions.0 -

Yep, i'll take your word for the dates in question, but i do recall coming across this situation when i was buying a commercial...as usual with my luck i missed the cut off point.
Early buyers of Euro 4 commercials were encouraged by much cheaper VED, the concession didn't last very long and when the rate for Euro 4 was increased was not retrospective (yet) for those earlier examples....don't for Pete's sake tell the chancellor, he'll put his tricorn hat on and produce the well worn flintlock uttering the immortal words..;)..vote for me.0 -

Not my van mate. Try looking properly, most van drivers are 10 times more respectable to other road users than car drivers.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0
