They've been flooded with complaints that their units can't get a GPS signal.
They claim its a leap year bug and have issued updates for it (many of which don't work) yet the 29th of Feb was over a month ago. In other words, TomTom didn't have a clue what has caused this and tried to blame it on the easiest thing possible.
Thinking about buying one? - Save yourself the hassle and don't bother.

Well both ours are fine, one 5 yrs old and a new one.0

The problem seemed to have started on 31st March and has been put down to a third party software error, a leap year error will not always manifest itself on the 29th Feb if say the software reconciles itself on the last day of a month. New software has been provided for download and according to sites such as PGPSW has fixed the problem0

Surely if you were to buy one in store, you would check it actually worked?
And if you buy one online, you would be fully covered by the DSR if not SoGA if the item did not work.
I can't see any reputable business selling items that don't work as they won't make any money on this ... infact they would lose money as they process all the returns.
Still available online and instore from the likes of Tesco, Argos, etc,. so presumably theirs still work fine.
