Can't you do somthing online now? I don't know if you can but it is still 5th.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

I never understand why people leave this to the last minute, you have a whole year to open an ISA, you can fund it as you go along, or with a lump sum. Depending on the ISA you are in generally you can transfer to other providers whenever you feel if they offer better deals. If anything leaving it until the last day means you have been earning taxable interest on any savings all year.
If anything there should be a rush to get it in on the 6th April.0 -

Why not open one with HL before midnight today. U may be able to move to another provider later if u are not happy with their rate. I have not read the T&C.Plz check it out before proceeding.0 -
i can't understand this either - what exactly are people doing for the last 365/4 days?I never understand why people leave this to the last minute, you have a whole year to open an ISA, you can fund it as you go along, or with a lump sum. perhaps peggyKu can tell us what the sticking point gas been?
i'm sure we could all benefit from this insight0 -
Maybe peggyKu has only just become aware about savings?
For years i just put my money "in an ISA" as this is what people spoke of. If it's in an ISA then it's good right?
Wrong.
It took a reduction in hours at work for me to start researching savings etc & it was an eye opener.
So just because WE know, doesn't mean everyone does. There could be any amount of reasons.0 -
Welcome to MSE PeggyKu. As others have said you can still open a cash ISA tonight and then transfer to a better deal in a week or so's time.0
-
But you have to put the money in today in order to be able to benefit from the ISA - unless the new bank takes faster payment, and that the bank PeggyKu banks from will do a transfer now, it may not even be an option?0

Any number of reasons. Just got cash from a house, a relative, bonus from work etc etc. Not everyone has the luxury of having £5k under the mattress to wack into an ISA.0
