Problem clicking on links

Hi

I am having a problem with my PC. It was running perfectly fine and still is on the whole. I do however have problems when clicking on links to my employer's website. They frequently post Facebook links to articles etc but whenever i click on them i get taken to https://www.google.co.uk, no matter what the article is. It only happens for this particular website and all other links work fine.

At first i thought it was the page admins fault for posting incorrect links but it also happens when i search for the website on google and click the links, i get taken back to the google home page.

Typing in the full URL on the address bar takes me to the page fine.

i am running Microsoft Security Essentials on my PC and it says everything is fine so i was hoping someone may be able to shed some light on the situation.

you didnt say whether you are using firefox or IE or chrome webbrowsers,
so if your using firefox try IE and see if the same thing happens, if it does then its not the browser, then for a few seconds to try it, disable Mirosoft Security essentials, it may think that the website link you selected is "infected" and therefore redirecting you back to www.google.co.uk
if disabling it doesnt fix it then its something else.
Have you downloaded and installed malwarebytes and run a scan with that? if not I would also try that.
if your using firefox and the problem doesnt appear in IE then it could be a protection setting, it has a google safe site/page setting which i have personally disabled on my computer.
in firefox type about:config in the URL bar and press enter. a window will appear click the i'll be careful. then type safebrowsing in the filter bar, select key and right click toggle.
browser.safebrowsing.malware.enabled false instead of default which is true.
then try the webpage again you are having trouble with if that doesnt work either you can change it back.

Hi Andy cheers for your response. Turns out its not a problem at my end. Now when I click on links facebook it tells me:

"Facebook has teamed up with McAfee to help protect you online. The link you are trying to visit has been identified as potentially unsafe by our trusted partner. Visit the Facebook Security Page to learn more about staying safe on the Internet."
