You will find many threads/posts about Telecom Plus in the forums if you use the search facility but you might save yourself a lot of time if you just have a quick read of Martin's article HERE.
The relevant sentence is:
For telephony, a good rule of thumb is to work out how much a 30 minute call at 11am on a Wednesday morning to any UK 01 or 02 number would cost on your current supplier. However, Telecom Plus’s home phone service especially should be avoided as it is uncompetitive.
For most people on BT Together Option 1, it would cost 90p (30 minutes at 3p per minute).
Many people on the MSE forums now use call18866.co.uk and pay 2p for that same call (2p connection and 0p per minute).
How much would you pay on Telecom Plus?Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
