First time traveller. where too?

My mother in law is treating us to a holiday, we've been under loads of pressure lately and would be nice to get away for a break.
Me and my partner have never been out of the country (yet to get our passport lol!) however would like the make this trip a memorible one. I dont know what i should be paying and never had any experience of location outside the uk. Some requirments would be, Sunny, plently of cheap shopping (fakes for a laugh), must have nice hotel, Safe, easy access to main facities from hotel, looking to stay for one week. 1k budget for 2. Please help.

Am i wrong in saying, ibiza willbe loud with loads of 18-30 off there heads and generally being unpleasent?

Ibiza is only 18-30 in certain resorts and is generally a great place.

If you're going in the summer and want fakes the only short haul destination i've seen them is Turkey. If you're not too bothered about the fakes then try the Canaries, or Menorca, both great places

Try Madeira. Lots say you have to be old to go there but i dont agree. Its clean, very pretty, lots of walking, good food and sun all year around.

May is a good time to go to Spain/Portugal/Canaries/Madeira, the prices for mid May away from the bank holidays can be very good.

Ibiza is a very varied island with much to offer all types of holidaymakers.
