Scottish Gas

Options
I have recently received a communication stating that as I had signed up to a price protection plan to 2009, that I would not be eligible to benefit from Scottish Gas's recently announced price reductions. Surely this cannot tbe the case?? Anyone advise!!

Yes this is true as you choose to freeze your prices. Price Fixes have been a bit hit and miss. If you have an April 2009 price fix you even get fined for leaving. If you have the fix and fall or the December 2009 price fix it would now be worth shopping around

The price is fixed not capped, so you don't benefit from the price reduction, but remember prices went up after price protection 2009 was withdrawn, but yours didn't, so you wouldn't get the full benefit of the fall anyway (I think the difference is about 6 or 7 %).
