Windows 7 made picture too wide on pc

Ive downloaded windows seven professional but now the picture is far too wide for my monitor.
I am missing about a quater and have to use the slide bar to see that.
Ive got one of the old square monitors.
Ive tried to adjust the resolution it stays the same.
Strange thing is although this is true for most sites ive been on Hukd seems to just fill the page with nothing missing !
Please help driving me nuts.
thanks

  • sounds to me like your browser is "zoomed"

Try holding CTRL down on the keyboard and then scrolling the mouse wheel, that'll zoom in and out.

Hope you don't mean "downloaded" Windows and meant "installed" as downloaded would be naughty ;)
  • Thanks spongmonkey,
so simple to fix when u know how. :j
I was amazed how simps to zoom in and out much easier than increasing page size when my eyes quite cant make out something.
So is was a handy function to know about.
I must have zoomed in by mistake when i installed as you say my windows ( it is a genuine bought one of the students offer )
as u can tell im not savvy enough to download and expect t to work.
Was just glad to get the cheap windows offer
    thanks again for helping:beer:

Control and 0 resets it to normal. Control an - or + will also adjust it.

Nothing naughty about it. You can legitimately download windows versions.

I believe the word you are looking for is "pirated".
And then to be pedantic, installed does not mean a legal version either. After all, you install the pirated versions too ;)

let's not be too pedantic though, the main thing is the OP's question is answered and solved and the software is legit ;)
