Can I use Flexi pipe on Hot water cylinder

I just moved in to my new house (new as in built in the 60s) and just finished cleaning all the sludge out of the loft cold water storage cistern. I then wanted to flush the cylinder out (shower water was brown as was the dishwasher and dishes YUK). The connections for the cylinder have been stressed over god knows how long and have been leaking. When i went to remove the fittings to look at the condition of the pipework the top connector disintegrated (glad it happened when water was off rather than when being on holiday). I now have no running water to bathrooms and am desperate to get up and running again. The top of the cylinder appears to have a 3/4 BSP to 3/4 compression adapter and this is what broke. I was thinking that as the joint was stressed, the simplest option just to get water working again would be to use a 3/4 BSP to 22mm compression flexi pipe that I can get at screw fix. Does anyone else agree or otherwise disagree with this?
This is what I was thinking of is for sale in screw fix as product code 83694. (wont let me post links)
I really appreciate anyone's help as I am desperate to get up and working again this evening. (or my partner might kill me)...

If you're desperate, why not try this. but regard it as a temporary fix. - If it leaks, then you know you should have used brass and copper fittings.
Sorry to sound unsympathetic, but you want it fixed pronto, and that seems like it might work0 -
that's speedfit and they say not to be used within a metre of a boiler so it does have some temperature restrictions but I'd have though you'd be fine on a HW cylinder0

Thanks for everyone's input. I was lucky in that I managed to get all the correct parts to do a proper fix last night. Solid copper pipe work with appropriate brass fittings. No need to worry about longevity of the fix now.
Thanks again!0
