can you order an item say for £1000 then 2 days later cancel it
once the money has been taken from credit card , then it just gets refunded on to card.
will you get reward points from credit card company?

Seriously though. Once you get a refund you no longer get the points. The only way this could work is if they refunded you via another method, athough this is rare as most companies insist on refunding you via the same payment method.

Or of course if the refund is done to a different credit card than you paid with (as most times sales assistants don't check the details that closely).

Of course there would be no problem doing this with small amounts, but if you do it with a large amount you'll be left with a £1000 bill on one card and a £1000 credit on a 2nd card (with the obvious Balance Transfer fees if you want to set them off against easch other)
