    is upgradable to ICS

Must admit it looks good value for the spec, but the thing that would worry me is that in order to upgrade to ICS, you have to use firmware for a completely different make (i.e. supposedly identical but rebranded for someone else) of tablet!

Fine if it all goes to plan, but if you brick it in the process, would Ebuyer replace it?

No you dont, they released their own beta and now stable ICS 4.0.3

See support tab near bottom @ sum-vision.co.uk/productinfo/cyclonetablet/cyclonetablet_astro.as

No worries with warranty, true bargain!

I've had quite a few sumvision products, they don't last very long before dying, but they are very cheap and usually do the job.
So go for it but I would be amazed if it lasted longer than 6 months.

Same here - I've had a couple of sumvision external HDD caddies and one failed pretty quickly, but Ebuyer were fine about the warranty.

So 23n1th - done the upgrade yet, and if so how did it go?

ICS is more demanding on resources and memory, which is why Sony Ericsson are issuing an 'advisory' to proceed with caution for it's phones when upgrading to ICS.

They've stopped selling it! Perhaps they were just clearing remaining stocks at that price.

Closest thing now seems to be the smaller of the two Coby Kyros models, but that's based on a slower A8 and costs £106... Looks like you got in at the right time.
  • ebuyer are now selling the upgraded astro, running ics.

There are a lot of reviews of the same gadget under yet another brand name
    e.g.
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/B007V5XL94/ref=cm_cr_pr_top_link_1?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=0

backward facing camera (so OK for video calls...) only, however 1 reviewer said the mic is not good enough for Skype

Apart from that it looks like a no brainer for a holiday or commuting gadget, pity no 3g SIM capability...
