I have an old ( very old ) PC monitor and would like a new LCD one to replace it.
Not really to be used for gaming just basic PC work for me and kids.
I am not sure if it matters what computer ive got ?
Here are the details in case Medion MD 8824 ENT PC
Have checked the manual for any further info. but can only find the following
Graphics card 'your computer is fitted with a hight perf graphics card one of the most techn advanced VGA cards ....
Interactive Direct 3D acceleration
Support Direct x 10
Video accel. direct draw.direct video,mpeg2,mpeg1,.
Has got an HDMI input connection
Cant understand any of this or know if its relevant.
Just seeen an ACER 24 in on HDUK but not sure if its a good deal or suitable for my computer.
Any help please

You need to check that at least one of the inputs on the monitor matches one of the outputs of the graphics card.
Depending on the interface used, you may also need to check the monitor's refresh rate is matched by that of the graphic's card. How do I add a signature?0 -
Just checked on Medion's site. Looks like it has a NVIDIA® GeForce® 8400 GS with D-Sub VGA , TV out and HDMI interface.
As long as the monitor you've seen has either D-Sub VGA or HDMI it should work. How do I add a signature?0 -
Thanks a lot figment,
I searched though the manual for ages but didnt find the info you did.
Ive checked the monitor and it does have both those inputs.
So even if I dont go for the ACER I know a bit more now what will work with my PC
Thanks again for checking this out :beer:0 -

I bought this last week and its a glorious LED monitor , hdmi input
I had 1 dead pixel far extreme left which is not visible so I didn't bother arguing it, but the depth and quality is great.
Note that the stand is non adjustable however.0 -
Gone upto £129.99 now.0

Thanks for the link - but thats a bit dear for me.
Inner Zone yes groan by the time I had sorted out what my PC was compatible with the Acer had gone up I did notice though that it had been at the £105 price a few months back so I will keep an eye out for that .
Must check with Play that it is 120 and not 60 Hz ( how techie do I sound now ) havent got a clue really just picking up on snippets.
Unless any one sees or has bought another bargain which I would be glad to hear about :A0 -

Try and get one with a glass fronted screen rather than the soft LCD type,"Imagination is more Important than knowledge"0
