I have got three travel sick kids, and if one starts, it has a domino effect. Horrendous.

Glad to say that none of them have been sick for 2 years now as a result of the following
    - we always give them a "joy ride" strawberry tablet before they travel, and tell them that "they won't be sick now as they have had a tablet"
    - we always restrict the amount they eat/drink before we travel (and no milk products, chocolate or oranges/acidic fruit)
    - we always travel at night or when they are dead tired, and they are encouraged to go to sleep (first one to sleep gets a prize)
    - the sickliest one sits/sleeps in the front
    - everybody has their own small ice cream tub which we call "a bin" rather than a sick-bucket, which they can reach themselves if needs be
    - everyone has their own "blanket" and we keep the car cool - helps them sleep but would also restrict the mess
    - the floor has rubber mats on the floor and we keep anti-bac spray and kitchen roll in the back.

This all sounds like a big hassle but the unpleasantness and hassle of stopping and sorting them out, sometimes several times means these precautions are worth it.

Don't let anyone tell you that they are imagining it and if you don't mention it, they will be fine. This is rubbish as my husband has found through trial and inevitable error :-))
Nor is it hereditary - neither my husband have ever been travel sick.

Incidentally, none of mine are sick on trains or planes, so we often choose to travel like that as everyone seems to enjoy it (as far as you can)
